Define what you want less of
Perhaps it is unused rooms, routine maintenance, or the effort of looking after a larger property. Name the tasks you want to leave behind. Then consider whether taking on a renovation to sell would support that goal or delay it.
Separate belongings from sale preparation
Deciding what to keep is a different job from making rooms look ready for a listing. You can explore a purchase before completing both. Explain what still needs sorting and ask what any proposed agreement would require you to remove.
Measure convenience alongside the actual terms
A direct purchase may reduce some preparation, but convenience is not a substitute for reviewing price and conditions. Compare the amount you could receive, work remaining, and possession arrangements with a future listing before selecting a route.
